County Commissioners criticize FDEP in handling of Kamax Landfill fire

The News Herald is reporting that an injunction has been granted that will allow the FDEP onto the landfill to fully put out the fire, but as of November 2, no one has shown up. Firefighters have been working around the clock to keep the fire from spreading outside of the landfill. The Bay County Health Department continues to be concerned about the smoke and other irritants in the air from the fire causing complications in people with respiratory issues. Further, the smoke and odors are a continuing nuisance to those living near the landfill in the normal enjoyment of their own property.

We have been and will continue to follow this story. I represent hundreds of similarly situated people around the country, including in the Florida panhandle, in various landfill litigation.
