Fuel leak in Sauganash Park exposed neighborhood to contamination

CBS 2 in Chicago reports that since before 2001, an underground plume of contamination from Bell Fuels spread under neighborhoods and allegedly killed plants and trees, and also produced a noticeable gas-like odor. Bell Fuels claims that the contamination never hurt any property, has claimed to have cleaned up the mess, and are willing to provide compensation. However, residents are worried about possible long-term health effects. The IEPA is requiring proof from Bell Fuels that no contamination can reach the public.
