Rumpke Landfill in Colerain Township, Ohio, gets permit to install equipment for odor control

By May 16, 2014May 14th, 2020No Comments

We have been following and blogging about the landfill odors in Colerain Township, Ohio. Community Press reports that the Ohio EPA has issued the Rumpke Landfill a larger capacity thermal oxidizer in an attempt to control the fumes. It will only capture the odors associated with the methane recovery facility. However it is only one of four (4) areas identified as generating odors.

Meanwhile, Ohio Citizen reports that there was a fire on July 22 at the tire recycling plant at the landfill. State fire investigators ruled the fire an accident.

We will keep an eye on this for developments. While we do not represent anyone who lives near the Rumpke Sanitary Landfill site, we represent hundreds of similarly situated people in the United States in various landfill pollution litigation.
