Simon Law Wins #1 Verdict and #1 Settlement in Missouri for 2025

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – Missouri Lawyers Media has ranked the Top 10 Verdicts & Settlements in Missouri for 2025, and Simon Law is at the top of both lists.

The publication ranked the $109 million business litigation verdict Simon Law Attorneys Kevin Carnie Jr. and Patrick M. McPhail won in May 2025 as the highest in the state. In that case, Simon Law attorneys proved one of Gleeson Asphalt Inc.’s suppliers misrepresented the quality and gradation of its base rock that led to failures at two surface parking lots.

Simon Law Attorneys Tony Simon and Jer Nixon won the third highest verdict in the state. A St. Louis County jury awarded $55.4 million in November 2025 to the plaintiffs in a shareholder derivative suit after Simon and Nixon proved that company directors and the controlling shareholder breached fundamental fiduciary duties.

The highest settlement in the state went to Simon Law Attorneys Johnny Simon and Jared Waldhoff, who won a $50 million settlement in a wrongful death case. The client, a man with special needs, died after a national medical equipment provider allegedly failed to replace his medical device in a timely manner.
