On January 26, 2024, attorneys Elizabeth McNulty and Liz Lenivy of The Simon Law Firm, P.C., secured a verdict for our client in a medical malpractice case. Our client was prescribed high dose opioid narcotics for nearly a decade in amounts that exceeded the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommended levels.
At the time, our client was under the primary care of an internal medicine physician with expertise in pain management. Our client sought treatment for back pain resulting from a car accident. Over time, the prescriptions increased, and he eventually found himself taking fentanyl patches. Ultimately, our client entered a drug rehab program for opioid addiction due to the ever-increasing amount of prescribed high dose opioid narcotics he was taking.
After a four-day trial, a St. Louis County jury awarded our client $40,000 for his injuries, and importantly helped him achieve the justice he was seeking.
