ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. April 9, 2026 — Christopher Peterson was injured when a driver sped through a red light while distracted and crashed into his vehicle.
Peterson was driving north along Musick Memorial Drive near the intersection with Hanley Road when the Defendant, a 2018 Toyota Tundra, was heading south along Hanley Road. The Defendant was driving during the course of his employment in May 2023 with 5 Stone Construction Company.
The Defendant was facing a red light and distracted while attempting to change lanes in an intersection and struck Peterson’s vehicle on the driver’s side. Peterson required ankle surgery as a result of the accident.
Simon Law Attorneys Johnny Simon and Katie St. John negotiated a $650,000 settlement on Peterson’s behalf.
“Our client was abiding by all traffic laws when the Defendant in this case chose to drive while distracted, crash into him and cause serious and permanent injures,” said Johnny M. Simon. “We hope this settlement continues to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving, and, for those who do it, there will be consequences and you will be held accountable.”
The client in this case was in his thirties at the time of the crash.
“We are hopeful this settlement has brought him a measure of justice in this entirely preventable accident,” St. John said.
