Biography

Tim Cronin has distinguished himself as a dedicated and award-winning trial lawyer whose work continues to shape the legal profession and improve patient and consumer safety nationwide. He focuses his practice on medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, trucking litigation, and any type of personal injury involving catastrophic injuries or death. Over the past 15 years, he has led litigation teams in cases with far-reaching consequences for public health and accountability in medicine and multiple other industries.

In 2016, he was lead counsel in a landmark $17.6 million verdict that spurred reform to opioid prescribing practices across the country. In 2018, he was the chief trial lawyer for Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush in achieving a $12.5 million verdict again Stan Kroenke and the Rams. In 2018, he obtained a $18.26 million verdict for a young girl who was discharged form a hospital three times while she had E coli.

In 2024, he was lead trial counsel in a case that resulted in a $535 million verdict for a young sexual assault victim in Illinois, which has had broad industrywide impact. This is the largest verdict in Illinois state history for a single Plaintiff. The incident occurred at a behavioral health center due to gross inadequacies that are systemic across the industry. The lackluster safety protocols and understaffing issues that often exist at these facilities are now changing as a result. The verdict sparked a movement toward stronger accountability across healthcare systems to protect these vulnerable patient populations. These are just a few examples of his past courtroom battles.

Tim devotes himself to uncovering wrongdoing and seeking justice for his clients. His goal in every case is to help repair the lives of his clients that have been devastated by the reckless conduct of others, to do everything possible to ensure it never happens again to anyone else, and to make the litigation process as easy and stress-free for his clients as possible. In addition to the above landmark efforts, Tim has obtained settlements or verdicts in complex cases exceeding $1 million for his clients on 50 separate occasions, recovering in excess of $4 million or more on over half of those cases. His verdicts and settlements for his clients exceed $800 million for his injured clients. These outcomes have driven institutional changes and compelled companies and healthcare providers to adopt safer practices, preventing future harm to others. In addition to getting compensation for his clients, he believes the goal in every case should be to send a message to the relevant industry, to have safer practices so that what happened to his clients does not happen again.

Alongside his trial work, Tim is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring the next generation of lawyers. He serves as an adjunct professor in Trial Advocacy at Saint Louis University School of Law, where he shares his expertise and instills the values of integrity and advocacy in aspiring litigators. His number one practice rule is to always be the most prepared person in the room.

“To get to that place where you know you’ve helped somebody who needs somebody to fight for them, that’s why I get up in the morning, that’s why I put my shoes on, that’s why I go to work.”
