ST. LOUIS – On May 16, 2025, a tornado ripped through more than 20 miles ofnurban areas in St. Louis and its suburbs.

Much of the damage was concentrated in some of the city’s lowest-income neighborhoods, leaving thousands suddenly homeless, powerless and feeling helpless with mounting legal questions related to property rights and insurance questions. The legal community banded together to do what it could to help, and Simon Law was honored to assist in several ways.

Simon Law donated $10,000 to the St. Louis Chapter of the American Red Cross during the KTVI donation drive on May 22. At the time, it was the largest single donation the organization had received toward tornado relief efforts.

Simon Law Attorneys John G. Simon and Mary Simon supported the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and The Missouri Bar by staffing a legal resources table for tornado victims at the Disaster Assistance Center that was set up by volunteers at the Chaifetz Arena.

Simon Law also sent staffers to partner with Action St. Louis, ForTheCultureSTL, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Urban League to offer advice at no charge to help residents navigate insurance claims, issues between landlords and tenants, and other legal challenges.

Simon Law has also hosted an internal donation drive, in which firm employees can buy supplies most needed for reconstruction in tornado ravaged areas.

Simon Law was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 2001 and has grown to a nationally-recognized personal injury and business litigation firm. The National Law Journal dubbed Simon Law one of the “winningest firms” in the U.S. The firm has won four nine-figure verdicts in just 20 recent months, totaling nearly $2 billion.
