The American Association for Justice has included verdicts won by Simon Law Attorneys Tim Cronin, John G. Simon, Nathan Perlmutter and John M. Simon in its 2024 Litigation Packet.
The packet features cases shared by top trial lawyers from around the country.
The AAJ featured the $535 million verdict Tim Cronin, John G. Simon and Nathan Perlmutter secured against a behavioral health system that failed to keep a 13-year-old patient safe from sexual assault.
The case exposed the need for better safety and security in institutions that are supposed to keep some of the most vulnerable members of society safe.
It is the largest verdict ever awarded to a single plaintiff in Illinois history.
The organization also featured the $462 million verdict John M. Simon and John G. Simon secured against a tractor trailer manufacturer that failed to build guards that would prevent vehicles from sliding underneath trailers during collisions, causing underride.
The clients included two young fathers, who were both killed when their car rear-ended a trailer equipped with a rear-impact guard that failed to keep them safe.
The case shined a national spotlight on a safety issue that’s been putting drivers at risk for decades.
